Samsung has introduced its latest Samsung Pro Plus microSD cards and Evo Plus microSD cards, offering capacities up to 1TB. These cards are perfect for devices like drones, action cameras, and handheld consoles such as the Nintendo Switch. With the average Switch game being around 10GB, the 1TB card can store approximately 90 games, although some larger titles like The Witcher 3 require more space.
Featuring a new 28nm controller, these cards are more power-efficient and durable, utilizing Low Density Parity Check error correction and 8th generation V-NAND technology. The Pro Plus models boast speeds of up to 180MB/s read and 130MB/s write, while the Evo Plus cards offer 160MB/s read and 120MB/s write speeds. All cards are rated A2 for application storage, U3, and V30 for general storage and 4K video recording.
Available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB sizes, the Evo Plus also includes a slower 64GB variant. Prices for the Pro Plus range from $25 for 128GB to $154 for 1TB, while the Evo Plus 1TB is priced at $132. Designed to withstand extreme conditions, all cards come with a 10-year limited warranty and are available globally.
