Realme has officially announced the debut date for its highly anticipated 300W wired charging technology, a breakthrough in fast-charging innovation. The reveal is set for August 14 at a dedicated event in China, marking a significant milestone following the introduction of their 240W charging rates in February 2023.
The new 300W charging technology represents a monumental leap forward, although it is not expected to be implemented in a smartphone immediately. Realme’s advancement comes in the wake of Xiaomi’s Redmi unveiling a similar technology capable of charging a smartphone from 0 to 100% in under five minutes. Despite this announcement nearly 18 months ago, Xiaomi’s technology has yet to be seen in a commercially available device.
Currently, Realme holds the record for the fastest charging on a commercial smartphone. The GT Neo 5, launched in China and later introduced internationally as the Realme GT3, features 240W fast charging. Realme claims this technology can charge a device from 0 to 100% in under 10 minutes, and our tests confirmed a complete charge in 11 minutes and 16 seconds.
The upcoming announcement is perfectly timed with the 828 Realme Fan Festival, celebrating Realme’s establishment as an independent brand on August 28, 2018. Fans and tech enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating what Realme has in store for the future of smartphone charging.
Realme’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone charging technology continues to set new standards in the industry. Stay tuned for the August 14 event to witness the next big leap in fast-charging innovation.
