iPhone SE 4 to Feature Apple Intelligence with A18 Chipset, But Pricing Remains a Challenge

Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 4, expected to enter mass production in October 2024, is generating buzz as it is likely to feature Apple Intelligence, a suite of generative AI tools introduced with iOS 18.1. The inclusion of these advanced features hints that the iPhone SE 4 could be powered by the A18 chipset, offering flagship-level performance in a budget-friendly device. With an OLED display and 8GB RAM, the SE 4 will resemble the iPhone 14 in design, supporting Face ID and a USB-C port.

Apple Intelligence requires robust hardware, which suggests that Apple will opt for the latest technology, possibly employing TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process. The A18 chipset, therefore, seems like the most plausible choice, aligning the SE 4 with the iPhone 16 models in terms of performance.

“But next year is certain to bring a bigger shake-up to the iPhone line. As early as the beginning of 2025, Apple will launch a new iPhone SE — the first upgrade to its low-end phone since 2022. This model will look like an iPhone 14, with a crisper OLED display that stretches across the full device. And you can also bet that it will have Apple Intelligence.”

However, despite its promising specs, the iPhone SE 4 may face challenges in the market due to its pricing. If Apple manages to price it within a competitive mid-range bracket, it could become a hot seller. As we await the official release in 2025, the potential success of the SE 4 will largely hinge on how Apple positions it in terms of cost.
